Setting a Program as Network-Operated

Learn how to set a Network-Operated Program to lock the program to prevent edits from non-Network users.

Network Administrators have access to update all organizations, locations, and programs within their network. Networks sometimes operate a program at a location that has other programs run by that location. For example, an agency that operates a typical food distribution may also allow a food bank to set up a mobile pantry at their building to add additional resources to address a need.

For network-run programs, especially those that exist at a location that also has agency-run programs, Vivery now offers the ability to designate a specific program as “Network-Operated,” which allows only a Network Administrator to make updates to that specific program. The Organization Admin for that agency will still be able to make updates to their agency-run programs, but not the “Network-Operated” programs.

To indicate that a program is Network-Operated, click Location in the left navigation menu, then click the location’s name to get into the Location Details view. Next, click the Programs tab to view all programs.

In the Program Settings area, click the pencil icon to edit the settings. To indicate that this program is run by the network, check the box next to This is a Network-Operated Program

When the box is checked, the program details appear as usual, with the disclaimer “This is a Network-Operated Program Locked from org/location admin edits.” This means that only a Network Administrator can make changes to this program.

To allow an Organization or Location Administrator to update a program, ensure that the Network-Operated Program checkbox is unchecked.
