Text Message Alerts with Vivery

Text message alerts through Vivery provide an easy way to communicate with neighbors and volunteers. In this guide, we will review how to activate this feature, add contacts, create contact groups, send messages, and promote sign-ups for your text alerts.

 

Activating Text Message Alerts

  • Access the text message alerts in Vivery using the left-hand side navigation menu.
  • Click on the Communications menu to expand your options.
  • Select Activate Locations.
  • Choose Enabled to turn on the text messaging feature.

 

Managing Contacts

  • Navigate to the Communication menu and select Manage Contacts.
  • If you have a list of neighbors with permission to contact via phone, upload them using an Excel or CSV template provided by Vivery.
  • To add contacts individually, click the green button for adding a contact and enter their first name, last name, and phone number.

 

Creating Contact Groups

  • Go to the Communications menu and select Manage Contact Groups.
  • Create groups to segment your contacts, such as seniors or families with small children.
  • Create a name for the group and click Add Group.
  • For bulk uploads, create groups before uploading contacts to indicate group membership in the template.

 

Sending Messages

  • Navigate to the Communication menu and select Send Messages.
  • Select recipients: everyone, specific groups, individual contacts, or phone numbers.
  • Type your message in the text box. Note that messages are one-way, but you can include a phone number or email for replies.
  • Include links in your message if needed.
  • Click Send Message to send the text.
  • Previously sent messages will appear below.

 

Promoting Sign-Ups

  • Go to the Communication menu and select Promote.
  • Use a URL for digital promotion, such as on Facebook, to direct people to a sign-up page.
  • Generate a QR code for printed materials like flyers. Download the image and add it to your flyer.
  • Use the QR code on printed materials and the URL for digital purposes to grow your contact list.
